Sauna Electrical Requirements

Plan circuits, voltage, amperage, plugs, and electrician involvement before ordering.
Do not buy from voltage alone
A 120V label does not necessarily mean an ordinary shared wall outlet is appropriate. Sauna models may require dedicated 20A or 30A circuits and specific receptacles. Larger models commonly step up to 240V.
Sun Home example
Current manufacturer documentation shows different requirements across the lineup: the Equinox 2 uses a dedicated 120V/20A circuit, while Eclipse capacity changes the requirement and outdoor Luminar configurations use 240V circuits. Always use the exact model manual.
Before ordering
Have a qualified electrician verify panel capacity, circuit route, breaker size, receptacle or hardwire requirements, local code, and the final sauna location. Electrical work is not the place to infer from a neighboring model.

Compare Sun Home Models →Voltage alone does not tell you enough
Two saunas can both use 120V and still require different amperage and receptacles. Sun Home, for example, publishes a dedicated 20A requirement for several smaller infrared configurations while the Eclipse 2 uses a dedicated 30A locking connection. Larger configurations can move to 240V. Always match the exact model, capacity, amperage and plug before electrical work begins.
Questions to give the electrician
Bring the current product manual or electrical specification for the exact configuration. Ask where the dedicated circuit will terminate, whether the receptacle type matches the supplied plug, whether the panel has capacity for the new circuit, and how outdoor wiring will be handled when applicable.
